Register for Summer Intensive on Community-Engaged Scholarship

This week-long intensive is for early career, tenure track faculty and advanced graduate students seeking faculty or staff positions in higher education. The Summer Intensive includes interactive workshops, lunches in disciplinary clusters and with senior community-engaged scholarship, site visits to community partners, and dedicated time to develop your own community engagement materials (i.e., research proposal, service-learning syllabus, promotion and tenure documents ).
At the end of four and half days, you will come away with:
Conceptual frameworks and scholarly resources
Practical partnership, collaboration, and evaluation tools
Perspectives from community partners on respective, effective community engagement
Career advice from senior community engaged scholars about promotion and tenure
Plans for publishing community engaged scholarship
Strategies for translating university knowledge for public audiences
Support from a network of interdisciplinary colleagues
Successful applicants should come ready to spend four and half days, reading, writing, and strategizing about their community engagement commitments and crafting a plan of action for when they return to campus.
Registration fee: $395 for MSU participants; $495 for non-MSU participants
The fee covers breakfasts, lunches, refreshments, community partner field trip, networking reception, and workshop materials.
